2013 Marks a Big Year for the Chevrolet Corvette

The 2013 model year has already begun to elicit a whole range of emotions from brand followers like Southworth Chevrolet. First, we feel proud to congratulate the Chevy Corvette on what will be 60-years of legendary automotive life. Next, a note of sadness fills the air as we prepare to say good-bye to the 'C6' generation Corvette. Finally, our team of Chevy experts is already getting excited for the two special edition Corvette offerings that will commemorate the aforementioned milestones: the 2013 Corvette 427 Convertible Collector Edition and the 60th Anniversary Corvette Package.

Chevrolet Pickups No. 1 For Car Thieves

If you drive a GM pickup like the Chevrolet Silverado, you may be in for some rough times with car theft. It seems that in the West Virginia region of America, pickup trucks are the Number 1 choice for car thieves.

As part of a new initiative, Chevy dealers like Southworth Chevrolet in Bloomer, WI will have the opportunity to give back to the Earth.

Chevrolet plans on installing solar-powered electric charging stations at dealerships across North America, in order to help those test driving and purchasing the Volt sedan. Dealer stations will generate electricity equivalent to 12 vehicle charges a day. Any extra electricity produced will go towards powering the dealership itself.

Chevrolet deliberately planned a temporary production stoppage of the Volt this June, which means there will be limited availability of the EV until August. According to Chevy spokesperson Robert Peterson, there are now roughly 200 Volt models available nationwide.

Why would Chevy plan such a stoppage with only 200 models available in the U.S.? Simple: They're looking toward the future.
