In the name of growth and development, Chevrolet will be expanding its involvement in the European market. How so? By achieving a greater presence in Ireland. While many Irish consumers are tried and true lovers of new Chevrolet vehicles, up until now the country's Chevy sales have been backed by a separate private importer. Soon, the automaker itself will take full responsibility.
More specifically, one of the brand's national sales companies, Chevrolet UK, will support and manage the Chevy network in Ireland. At this point in time, the market remains small. However, company officials expect that to change. Mark Terry, Managing Director for Chevrolet UK (and now Ireland), notes, "With the great range of cars we now have, our competitive CO2 figures, low purchase and ownership costs and a dedicated team here in the UK that covers every aspect of the business, I'm confident we can become a major player in Ireland."1
First step to becoming a major player? Delivering a whole host of excellent Chevrolet models. In order to truly solidify its presence in Ireland, Chevy has taken into account the wants and needs of Irish consumers. That means bringing in models such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Spark, Aveo and Captiva.
